Fall on the Farm

Fall on the Farm

I truly meant to have this as a space I would update often, but I think I really underestimated the amount of work we would be doing on the farm over the summer. You might think that once the flowers are growing you’re all set, but there is so so so much to do every day. Even now, when the summer flowers are coming to an end, we are back at the beginning focusing on getting our seeds germinated, the fields ready for spring bulbs, and have to get all of our cool-season flowers into the ground.

We’re  trying things a bit different this year, and the majority of the flowers we’ll have in spring will be planted in October and November, then comes the challenge of keeping them alive through the winter. But if we can do that, we’ll have much stronger plants come spring, and hopefully THAT will help them survive our Central Texas hell summer.

The studio has been busy as well. We’ve been busy working on some really fun large custom orders for non profits as well as making all the flower pumpkins we can! I’ve been getting into the groove making seasonal collages that I will get made into cards and prints asap. I’m also working hard behind the scenes to try to get caught up on listings and all the admin things that I really dislike spending time doing, but I usually get into a groove and have some fun.
